2020 Sencha First Flush: Samidori - 15 Days Covered
40 g / 1.41 oz
Approximately 10 servings
[2020 First Flush Premium Product: Only 9kg of tea leaves were harvested]
Harvested from our Yubune fields in Wazuka, Kyoto, our Samidori is known to possess a deep umami taste, with little bitterness. The natural sweetness of this variety is further emphasised by its deep jade green color when brewed. To create a unique flavour profile, these Samidori tea trees were covered for 15 days.
This is also the first year in which we are producing Samidori as Sencha. Previously our Samidori was harvested to make matcha. Whichever way you choose to enjoy your Samidori, the distinct umami taste is bound to tingle your tastebuds.

The First Flush, usually in Spring, is also known as the first harvest of the season. Only the youngest and most tender shoots are harvested. We hope you feel the tranquility of Wazuka with each sip.
